Source Material (SM / @source__material) is a student-led publication supported by ArtCenter’s Writing Center. Created by and for students, SM is dedicated to publishing work that celebrates multidisciplinary collaboration and challenges traditional, institutionalized design. With each issue, we hope to bridge voices between classroom and department walls.

Issue 09: Taboo invites you to question unspoken rules and norms—what’s acceptable, what isn’t, and who decides—while creating space for the personal, private, and often unsaid stories that challenge societal boundaries.
In this issue, we feature exploring the experiences we don’t usually share—whether because they feel too small to matter or too big to hold alone. By doing so, we hope to find connection in the things left unsaid, where others can relate. Or reveal things that go beyond ourselves.
